He enjoys the respect of his colleagues as a decorated physician, surgeon, author, teacher, organizational leader, and innovator. He was voted by his peers to be included in “America’s Top Plastic Surgeons” and chosen to be listed among “Best Doctors in America”. As an advocate of reliable consumer information, he serves as chairman Southern Beauty magazine’s advisory board. While recognizing Dr. McCollough’s many contributions to humanity, another international professional publication, Cosmetic Surgery Times, labeled him a “Renaissance Man”.

Recognized as one of the world’s leading experts in nasal and facial plastic surgery, Dr. McCollough is board-certified by two boards. Each of which certify surgeons for cosmetic and reconstructive procedures within the face, head and neck. He is a Fellow of the prestigious American College of Surgeons and was instrumental in establishing the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. For his efforts, he was elected by his fellow surgeons as the Board’s first president.

While continuing to perform surgery five days each week and devoting his professional career to creating procedures, programs and facilities designed to enhance the lives of human beings from diverse backgrounds, Dr. McCollough founded The American College of Rejuvenology. The College is an interdisciplinary organization committed to helping men, women, and children look better, feel better, and live longer, more fulfilling lives.

He previously served on the Alabama Commission on Aging; and for his contributions to positively affect the physical, psychological, economic, and social aspects of aging was inducted into the Senior Citizens Hall of Fame. In 2007, he was elected president of the International Council of Integrative Medicine (soon to be renamed The International Counsel of Mind/Body Medicine) and continues to serve on the organization’s board of directors.

Dr. McCollough is a member of the national faculty of The United States Sports Academy, where he provides counsel for Human Enhancement and Rejuvenology™.In 2006 he received the USSA’s Distinguished Service Award.

A full time facial plastic surgeon, decorated author and teacher, Dr. McCollough has also shared his vision for comprehensive life enhancement with colleagues around the world. As a result of his experience and expertise, he was selected as one of forty surgeons selected by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery to direct a year-long fellowship for aspiring young specialty plastic surgeons. Through a private foundation established by Dr. and Mrs. McCollough, these fellowship surgeons provide free skin cancer screening clinics at The McCollough Institute* . and (when indicated) provide plastic and reconstructive surgery for underprivileged individuals and other charitable organizations. Of equal importance is that the two fellowship doctors-in-training provide an additional layer of care and coverage for McCollough Plastic Surgery Clinic patients.
